The Airtel company said it has always maintained that the mobile Average Revenue per User (ARPU) needs to be at Rs 200/- and ultimately at Rs 300/-, so as to provide a reasonable return on capital that allows for a financially healthy or economic friendly business model.
“Bharti Airtel also believes in that this level of ARPU will help to get the substantial investments required in the future network services and spectrum. Even more important, this will give Airtel the elbow room or helping hand to roll out the 5G network in the India,” Bharti Airtel said in an official statement.
As the first step towards hike in the prepaid tariff, the company said it will take the lead in the “rebalancing” prepaid plan tariffs during the November month. These new or updated Airtel prepaid recharge plans will come into effect from 26th November, 2021.
